Important Meeting of Imarat-e-Shariah Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra at Haji Saboo Siddiq Musafirkhana, Crawford Market, Mumbai
Mufti Azizur Rahman Fatehpuri Elected as Ameer-e-Shariat Maharashtra; Mufti Roshan Shah Qasmi and Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi Appointed as Naib Ameers-e-Shariat

An important meeting of Imarat-e-Shariah Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra was held today at Haji Saboo Siddiq Musafirkhana, Crawford Market, Mumbai. The meeting was presided over by Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Nadeem Siddiqui, President of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, and held under the supervision of Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra. Members of the working committees of both Jamiats and specially invited guests attended the meeting.
After mutual consultation and consensus, Maulana Mufti Azizur Rahman Fatehpuri was elected as Ameer-e-Shariat Maharashtra. Mufti Muhammad Roshan Shah Qasmi, President of the Deeni Taleemi Board Maharashtra, and Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, were appointed as Naib Ameers-e-Shariat Maharashtra.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Shams-ul-Haq Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Marathwada. Maulana Muhammad Sajid Qasmi presented Naat-e-Pak. Thereafter, the chief guest from Imarat-e-Shariah Hind, Delhi, Maulana Mufti Muhammad Zakawat Hussain Qasmi, Sheikh-ul-Hadith of Madrasa Amina, Delhi, spoke about the establishment of Imarat-e-Shariah Hind, its remarkable historical services, and the religious and national services of the present Ameer-ul-Hind, Maulana Syed Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Sadr-ul-Mudarriseen of Darul Uloom Deoband, as well as Naib Ameer-ul-Hind Mufti Syed Salman Mansoorpuri, teacher of Hadith at Darul Uloom Deoband.
He briefly but comprehensively explained the qualities and characteristics required in an Ameer-e-Shariat, stating that the Ameer-e-Shariat should possess knowledge and piety, honesty and insight, sincerity, steadfastness, and the ability to guide the Ummah correctly.
Mufti Hafeezullah Qasmi, Nazim-e-Tanzeem Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, conducted the proceedings of the meeting. At the beginning, Maulana Ibrahim Qasmi, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, elaborated on the nature and working methodology of Imarat-e-Shariah Hind.
Addressing the gathering, the chairman of the meeting, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Nadeem Siddiqui, stated that Imarat-e-Shariah Hind was established in India through the efforts of Fida-e-Millat Maulana Syed Asad Madani (RA). He also appreciated the services of Qaed-e-Millat Maulana Syed Mahmood Asad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, in revitalising this system and organising programmes on Islamic jurisprudential issues across different parts of the country.
In view of the prevailing circumstances, he highlighted the importance and need for providing Shariah guidance to Muslims, resolving religious and national issues, and establishing Imarat-e-Shariah in Maharashtra. He proposed the name of the renowned scholar and practicing Mufti of Maharashtra, Maulana Mufti Azizur Rahman Fatehpuri, for the position of Ameer-e-Shariat Maharashtra. All members present at the meeting supported and endorsed the proposal by raising their hands.
Mufti Syed Huzaifa Qasmi, Nazim-e-Tanzeem Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, proposed the name of Mufti Roshan Shah Qasmi, President of the Deeni Taleemi Board Maharashtra, for the position of Naib Ameer-e-Shariat, highlighting his scholarly insight, religious services, and organisational experience. Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, sought the approval of all members present, who unanimously supported the proposal.
Similarly, Mufti Muhammad Yusuf Qasmi, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra, highlighted the religious, national, and organisational services of Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi and appreciated his scholarly abilities and long-standing services. He proposed his name for the position of Naib Ameer-e-Shariat, which received strong support from the members present.
On this occasion, the newly appointed Naib Ameers-e-Shariat, Maulana Muhammad Roshan Shah Qasmi and Maulana Haleemullah Qasmi, expressed their determination to establish Imarat-e-Shariah throughout Maharashtra through mutual consultation, make it active and effective, and convey its religious and national services to the public in an effective manner. Both Naib Ameers emphasised strengthening the organisational structure and ensuring that the system of Shariah guidance reaches every part of the state effectively.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the newly elected Ameer-e-Shariat Maharashtra, Mufti Azizur Rahman Fatehpuri, delivered a comprehensive and insightful address on the services of Imarat-e-Shariah Hind, the remarkable traditions and services of Imarat-e-Shariah Patna, and the importance and need for establishing Imarat-e-Shariah in Maharashtra. He emphasised the need to strengthen the system of religious, national, and Shariah services of Imarat-e-Shariah and to extend its effective reach to different parts of the state.
The meeting concluded with a dua by Mufti Azizur Rahman Fatehpuri.
Apart from the aforementioned scholars, several important office-bearers also attended the meeting, including Qari Muhammad Sadiq Khan (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Qari Muhammad Ayub Qasmi (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Al-Haj Zahid Ibrahim Sheikh (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Qari Muhammad Ayub Azmi (Treasurer, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Mufti Abdul Rahman Naigavi (General Secretary, Jamiat Ulama Marathwada), Mufti Muhammad Shahid Qasmi (President, Jamiat Ulama District Pune), Mufti Taufiq Mansoor Mazahiri (General Secretary, Jamiat Ulama District Ratnagiri), and Mufti Muhammad Ashraf Qasmi (President, Jamiat Ulama District Kolhapur).
Similarly, important office-bearers of Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra Arshad Madani were also present, including Maulana Arif Umari (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Mufti Haroon (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Qari Muhammad Idris Ansari (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Qari Abdul Rasheed Ajmeri (Naib President, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Mufti Ismail Qasmi, MLA (President, Jamiat Ulama Malegaon), Maulana Ishtiaq (Treasurer, Jamiat Ulama Maharashtra), Qari Muhammad Yunus (Assistant Treasurer), and Mufti Mirza Kaleem Baig Nadwi (President, Jamiat Ulama Marathwada).
A large number of district presidents, members of the working committees, and specially invited guests from both Jamiats were also present at the meeting.
