Manora, Washim District – September 7, 2026: Under the auspices of the Deeni Taleemi Board (Jamiat Ulama-i-Maharashtra), a one-day educational and training workshop for teachers, Imams, and administrators of religious seminaries (Makateeb-e-Deenia) was held at Masjid Quba, Rahmania Colony, Manora, Washim District.
The event was held under the patronage of Maulana Hafiz Mohammad Nadeem Siddiqui (President, Jamiat Ulama-i-Maharashtra) and presided over by Maulana Mufti Mohammad Roshan Shah Qasmi (President, Deeni Taleemi Board, Jamiat Ulama-i-Maharashtra). It was led by Maulana Mohammad Asif (President, Jamiat Ulama, Washim District) and supervised by Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ilyas (General Secretary, Jamiat Ulama, Washim District). The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat (poetry praising the Prophet).
The primary objective of this workshop was to make the system of religious seminaries more organized and effective, enhance the teaching skills of instructors, and formulate a practical blueprint for the religious and moral upbringing of the younger generation.
During the training session, Hafiz Qari Mohammad Naseeruddin (Administrator, Maktab Mohammadia Muzaffarnagar, Akola) provided specialized training. He presented crucial and beneficial points regarding the educational framework of seminaries, the responsibilities of teachers, the religious and moral upbringing of students, and effective teaching methodologies. He emphasized that a Maktab is not merely a center for reading the Holy Quran, but a vital source for building the foundational faith, beliefs, acts of worship, morals, and Islamic character of children. Therefore, strengthening the seminary system and refining the skills of teachers is the need of the hour.
In his presidential address, Mufti Mohammad Roshan Shah Qasmi highlighted the importance of religious education in the current era. He stressed the urgent need to activate and strengthen various sectors, including organized seminaries, model mosques, Quran and Hadith lessons, women’s seminaries, adult education centers, and school tuition setups. He stated that to connect the younger generation with religious education, Islamic beliefs, worship, and excellent morals, it is vital to establish an effective educational link between the home, the mosque, the Maktab, and the Madrasah. He appealed to Imams, teachers, and leaders of Jamiat Ulama to continue organized and continuous efforts at their respective levels to promote religious education.
On this occasion, the leaders and members of Jamiat Ulama, Tehsil Manora, also highlighted the importance of the workshop, expressing their determination to expand the seminary network and improve the educational and administrative performance of existing institutions.
During the workshop, the committee for the Deeni Taleemi Board, Tehsil Manora, was also formed, in which Maulana Mohammad Shakir was appointed as President and Hafiz Mansab as General Secretary. The newly appointed officials pledged to play an active role in promoting religious education, increasing the number of seminaries, improving educational standards, and providing continuous training for teachers.
In conclusion, Maulana Mufti Mohammad Roshan Shah Qasmi led a special prayer for the Muslim community, the religious seminaries, the teachers, and the spiritual future of the younger generation, marking the official end of the one-day workshop. A large number of local scholars, mosque Imams, and Jamiat Ulama workers attended the meeting.
